From October 24 through November 22, artists take over the walls and the car wash becomes Austin's newest outdoor gallery. Live painting, music, food, and family fun. Come watch the transformation happen in real time.

Our family has been in this part of Austin for more than fifty years, since before the neighborhood was even built. We have watched it grow and change, and we care about what it looks like fifty years from now.
So when we say this is a community project, we mean it in the sincerest way. Our hard work and our heart have gone into this. It's an inclusive restoration project that brings the community together, a service to the community, from a family that loves it. The same well-run wash you already trust, with creative expression built on top.
The Art Car Wash is our way of adding to that feeling. A welcoming, safe, family-friendly space the whole neighborhood knows about and is proud to call its own.
First opened by our grandfather, Gus Carlson, who served this neighborhood for decades. Everything we build here, we build on his foundation.
The Art Car Wash is the beginning of a bigger vision: a creative world, growing right here in South Austin. The dream is simple. You drive onto this property and feel like you've entered another dimension, immersed in art and creativity.
